Chapter 6: College Committees & Advisory Councils

06:01:00   Academic Advisement

Purpose: The Academic Advisement Committee shall have the responsibility for coordinating an annual review of the academic advisement process and recommending improvements in the process to the vice president for Academic Affairs. The Committee will also be responsible for reviewing and recommending improvements to academic advising training and resources.

 

Membership:

  1. Advising Resource Center Representative (1) – Appointed by the Vice President for Student Affairs
  2. Director of Enrollment Services and Campus Information
  3. Dean of Student Services, Chair
  4. Faculty (7):
  5. Faculty (1): Elected by Faculty in the Advanced Technologies Division
  6. Faculty (1): Elected by Faculty in the Behavioral and Social Sciences Division
  7. Faculty (1): Elected by Faculty in the Business Technologies Division
  8. Faculty (1): Elected by Faculty in the Health Professions Division
  9. Faculty (1): Elected by Faculty in the Humanities Division
  10. Faculty (1): Elected by Faculty in the Mathematics Division
  11. Faculty (1): Elected by Faculty in the Science Division
  12. Office of Admissions and Records Representative (1) – Appointed by the Vice President for Student Affairs

The committee chair shall post a meeting summary on the campus bulletin board and post minutes/actions/plans on the Campus Drive, Committees Folder.
